What you get:
Experience a Mahout Lodge package in the idyllic countryside near the UNESCO designated heritage town of Luang Prabang. Take an elephant trek into the rain forest. Later, direct it into the Nam Khan River where you will participate in giving it a bath. This elephant adventure will provide long lasting memories and will support the domesticated elephants in Lane Xang, when Laos was formerly known as the 'Land of a Million Elephants'.

This 2 day program with the option of 2, 3, or 4 nights accommodations in one of the locally harvested wood hewn cabins of our Mahout Eco Lodge situated at a bend of the Nam Khan River with river view balconies includes a half day mahout training program with an elephant trek and elephant bathing in the Nam Khan River, with optional outdoor adventure activities of ONE of the following:

village trekking, mountain biking, kayaking or an excursion to the scenic Kuangsi Waterfall south of Luang Prabang.

Minimum 2 days and 2 nights Mahout Lodge package in a riverfront cabin along the Nam Khan River.

Visit a locally Lao owned elephant camp where you support the local community and employ villagers.

Wake up early to retrieve the elephant from the jungle and direct it to the Nam Khan where you will participate in its bathing (a highlight for many of our guests).

Select one of multiple optional activities-from a trek to an ethnic minority village, to mountain biking along paved and dirt roads along river frontage roads, to kayaking between Tad Sae Waterfall back to our Mahout Lodge, OR a 4 hour roundtrip excursion to Kuangsi Waterfall for a hike, a swim in any multiple pools at different levels of the falls, and a visit to the Sun Bear Rescue Center.
