| Our Mahout Eco Lodge consists of 9 separate chalets-like cabins lined up in a slight arc nestled along one of the meandering bends of the Nam Khan River, apicturesque atmosphere for relaxing and absorbing Lao country – life. Our native wood cabins are constructed from locally grown and harvested wood. The posts for our stilted cabins are at least a foot in diameter, providing a solid foundation for the cabins elevated wood hewn floors which are up to several meters up above the ground. |
 | Each cabin has its own balcony fronting the picturesque river Looking back across to where elephant from our elephant camp emerge from an opening in the river bank’s rain forest canopy, one also easily sees across the way, Phou Suang or ‘elephant hill’ distinctly conjuring an elephant’s back with a smaller hill forming the elephant’s ear and head. Each cabin is high-ceilinged with the floor made from local wood-hewn shingles. At the rear is each cabin’s private bathroom. In addition our Mahout Lodge is serviced by an open-air pavilion restaurant ideal for al fresco dining. Try our delicious LuangPrabang regional cuisine such as “ mok’ and ‘kai-pan’ a favorite Lao snack from locally collected river-weed. Our Mahout Lodge is uniquely situated to combine our All Lao elephant camp with our outdoor activities such as.. cycling, bamboo rafting, kayaking or swimming as well as cultural activities such as visiting ethnic minority villages and crafts. |

 | Day Tour to swim at waterfall: After having breakfast. We take a van to Ban Xieng Loum and then take a long tail boat the waterfall enjoy Lao-style Lunch. Swimming at the Tad Sae and enjoy jumping. Long – tail boat return to Ban Ane “Village” Transfer back to LuangPrabang, your hotel or to the mahout lodge. OR 11:00 / 13:00 we drive 1.5 hours to Kuang si waterfall by van and enjoy a Lao-style lunch. Visit the beautiful waterfall cascading down the mountain- side, take your time to go swimming and enjoy ‘monkey jumping’. Also a great photo opportunity with a family of sun bears. Return by van to Luang Prabang OR to the mahout lodge with a visit hill tribe Ban Na Ouan, a ‘Hmong’ village. |
