Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,
I’m Walter Wang. As a member of the third panel, it is my great honor to share with you the fourth topic on artificial intelligence. "Should States Compete or Cooperate in Pursuit of AI?". And then I'll move on to the first topic," Achievement: Next Steps", including “what our next goal is”, “What are the common goals of Germany's cooperation with China”, and “Which projects in Germany can be launched in Inner Mongolia”.
In fact, it has been proved that the international industry giants which really promoted the progress of human information technology, whether it is "Microsoft", "Google", "Amazon" or "Apple", all developed products that serve all humanity. Germany also has its world famous enterprises in precision manufacturing, namely "Siemens" and "Bosch". They have formed a good complementary relationship with American industrial giants in fields such as artificial intelligence (AI). Similarly, "BAT" from China, namely "Alibaba", "Tencent" and "Baidu" (my German friends, you know their names?), due to large volumes of consumer data from Chinese market and the applications , are leading a new trend in technology.
In the field of voice recognition, China's "IFLYTEK" has developed products which can compete with Google. The "IFLYTEK" translator, which I used a few days ago, could translate several Chinese dialects into German, Russian and other dozens of languages as simultaneous interpretation.
In recent years, China's AI has made great progress in the application field. But due to lack of a good industrial foundation, compared with Germany, there is still huge room for improvement, and need to modestly learn a lot from Germany.
In 2014, Chinese Premier Keqiang Li and German Chancellor Angela Merkel signed the famous “China-Germany Cooperation Action Platform”, which means industry 4.0 had entered a new era of China-Germany cooperation. It is clearly pointed out in the “Platform” that the digitization of industrial production is the "Industry 4.0", which is of great significance to the future economic development of China and Germany. The two governments should provide policy support for enterprises to participate in the process.
China and Germany in the future will become the most important partners for each other in their respective regions, and continue to expand bilateral relations based on the partnership of equality, mutual respect, and mutual benefit, and the innovation partnership will play an important role in progress.
The development of AI on industry 4.0 requires the cooperation among China, Germany and other countries. AI is the key technology to liberate human productivity.
Inner Mongolia, as an open, democratic and minority area in China, has tremendous geographical advantages and energy advantages. I, on behalf of the Youth from Inner Mongolia, sincerely invite German friends to invest or start a business in Inner Mongolia. I think we have huge space for cooperation and common interests in the areas of Unmanned Vehicles, New Energy, Energy Internet and so on.
I sincerely hope that we can make use of these few days to fully communicate in detail, and may gain a lot from the joint development of our career, so that you can have a rewarding trip in Inner Mongolia.
